The following obituary was sent to me from J.R. Hawkins, Columbus, Ohio
Benjamin "Frank" Hawkins, 84, Route 1, Texico, died 3:55 A.M. April 13, 1998, at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia, IL.

He retired from Seigler Stove Factory in Centralia after 21 years of service.

Born May 15, 1913 in Texico, he was a son of Ira and Laura (Wimberly) Hawkins. He married Opal Meador of Iuka, who survives.

Services will be 2 P.M. Thursday at Panther Fork Baptist Church in Texico with the Rev. John Ashby officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetary. Friends may call 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at the L.R. Osborn & Son Funeral Home in Kell.

He was a member of the Panther Fork Missionary Baptist Church and served in the Army in France and Germany during WWII.

In addition to his wife, survivors include daughters Marilyn Albert and husband Jerry of Iuka and Brenda Ferrari and husband Dennis of Centralia; sons, Douglas Wayne Hawkins and wife Joyce and Carl Gleason Hawkins and wife Chalise, all of Mt. Vernon, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one
great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and an infant daughter.
