Mrs. Charlotte Bowman
Dead Mrs. Charlotte Bowman, formerly of
south of Mark, died at the home of her son Pearly Bowman
at West Grove, Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock,
from pneumonia. Mrs. Bowman had been an invalid
a number of years, having to use a wheeled
chair. Funeral services were conducted at the
Mark church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
Interment was made in the Hopkins cemetery.
The funeral sermon was given by Rev. Thurman
Andrews of Lancaster, Missouri.

Charlotte Bowman Charlotte Bowman, daughter of
Jesse and Martha Stodgill,
was born in Jackson county, Indiana, March 19,
1862. She grew to womanhood and received her
education and early training at and near the
place of her birth. On the 31st day of December,
1882, she was married to Charles Wesley Bowman,
and to this union three sons and two daughters
were born- Freddie, at home; Pearly of West Grove;
Nancy Ellen Stogdill
of near Mark, and Martha Stogdill
of near Mark. Sunday, May 6 1906, C.W. and
Charlotte were converted and united with the
Washington church by Bro. Gill, and later she
removed her membership to Mark, Iowa and remained
a faithful member until death. Mrs. Bowman
departed this life at her son's home in
West Grove, IA., with the "flu" and pneumonia
fever, Dec, 1928 at 8 o'clock, aged 66 years,
9 months, and 1 day. As a mother she was
sacrificial and loving; as a companion she was
true, as a friend and neighbor she was
accommodating and obliging and as a Christian
she was pious, self-denying and faithful. Truly
she was a good woman and will be greatly missed
in the home, church and community. Four
children, sixteen grandchildren, one of whom
was not present, Ray Bowman
of Wyoming. She leaves to sorrow her brothers,
Wesley Stodill
of Council Bluffs, and Lewis, of Glenwood, MO.;
a half sister Nancy Jane Collier of Council Bluffs, Iowa. so many neighbors and numerous friends. One son Louis Calvin preceded her in death, Oct 29, 1887. Funeral services were held Wednesday Dec. 19, 1928 at 2 o'clock at the Mark
Church, conducted by Rev. T.A. Andrews of
Lancaster, MO.; interment was made in the Hopkins
cemetery.
