John A. Carlson Dies---

John A. Carlson was born at Shickley August 11, 1883, and died at this home in Edgar, March 30, having reached the age of 69 years, seven months and 19 days,

Funeral services were held at the Ong Methodist Church, Thursday, April 2, at 2 p.m., with Rev. W. W. Maxwell officiating.

Burial was in the Ong Cemetery.

Mr. Carlson had been ill for a number of years with a rare blood malady. His patience in suffering and his cheerfulness during the long illness will long be remembered by those who knew him. His determination to get well was manifested by his desire to get back to his work of paper hanging and painting as soon as possible after severe sick spells, as he maintained that he felt better when he could work which he did up until four months ago.

His sister, Mrs. Alma Atkison, who made her home with him, and his daughter, Mrs. Wendell Sugden of Fairbury, tenderly cared for him during his illness.
