Mrs. John A. Carlson

Grace Almeda Carlson was born at Shickley, Fillmore County, Nebraska, on June 18, 1886, and passed away at her home in Edgar Nebraska, Saturday, October 1, 1949, at the age of 63 years, three months and 13 days.

She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Peterson who preceded her in death.

On October 12, 1904, she was united in marriage to John A. Carlson. To this union four children; Marion Sugden of Edgar; Myron of Chester; Melvin, who preceded his mother in death, February 20, 1936; and Darwin of Napa, California. Besides her husband and three children her son-in-law and two daughters-in-law, she is survived by six grandchildren, Charles John, Wendy Ann and Connie Sue Sugden, Larry Wayne Carlson, Kay Lynn and John Darwin Carlson and three brothers, Walter E. Peterson of Denver, Colorado; Clifford A. Peterson of Lisco, Nebraska; and Leonard, M. Peterson of Imperial, Nebraska; and six sisters, Jennie Stackhouse of Chappell; Mary Fritz of Wilcox; Mildred Jones of Portland, Oregon; Pearl Rosier and Helen Lindsay of Kearney, and Hazel Jay of Denver, Colorado and many nephews and nieces and a host of friends.

Mrs. Carlson was a member of the Methodist Church and the Woman's Society of Christian Service at Edgar.

Funeral services were held at the W. A. Sugden home at 1:45 p.m., Tuesday, October 4, 1949, and at the Methodist Church in Ong at 2:30 p. m. conducted by her pastor, the Rev. F. J. Aucock.

Mrs. F. J. Aucock sang "In the Upper Garden," "Beyond the Sunset" and "Sun of My Soul." Vergene Nelson was at the piano.

Casketbearers were: Galen Lambert, Ray Berkey, Harry Larkin, Harry Horner, Ed. Aderman and Leonard Carlson.

Flower committee was: Mrs. Leonard Carlson, Mrs. Harry Larkin, Mrs. Ray Berkey, Mrs. Galen Lambert and Mrs. Ed. Aderman.

Burial was in the family plot in the Ong Cemetery.
