Lillie C. Hess, 95, of Parkersburg, formerly of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, passed away Nov. 24, 2008, at the Eagle Pointe Nursing Facility.

She was born Sept. 20, 1915, in Ogden, Wood County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Henry and Mary Ward Bauman.

Lillie was a homemaker and enjoyed camping, crafting, quilting and was an avid church member. She previously attended the Marrtown Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving is one brother, William Bauman and wife, Doris, of Ravenna, Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emory J. Hess in 1964; four brothers; and six sisters.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, with the Rev. Robert Cornell officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens, Mt. Vernon, Ohio, at a later date. The family will receive friends from noon until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
