OBITUARY:
Emaline (Loucks) Hoover-Wise

Mrs. Emaline Wise was born to William & Martha (Rhinebolt) Loucks on November 27, 1859 in Harrison Township, Elkhart County, Indiana, as the second child of nine.

She was united in marriage to Isaiah Hoover on June 22, 1882. To this union were born four children: three girls and one boy (one daughter preceded her in death). Her children pay her the highest honor in saying: "As a mother" she was the best.

She united with the Church of the Brethren at the Camp Creek Congregation in early womanhood, and became a member of the Union Center Congregation in 1904. She remained an active and faithful member throughout life and was a great inspiration to all who knew her. After it was impossible for her to attend services, she appreciated the many favors given by the church in her own home. Her interest in the church and devotion to her Savior were deep until death.

Mr. Hoover passed from this life in 1901, and on October 15, 1904, Emaline was joined in marriage to Jeremaih Wise. Mr. Wise passed from this life on December 1, 1937.

Emaline passed from this life quietly on February 18, 1946 after an extended illness of several years of which she was bed-fast the last six weeks, at the age of 86 years, 2 months, and 21. days.

She leaves to remember her in hope and love, three children: Mrs. Lewis (Mary) Shively of Clyde, New York, Mrs. Alfred (Martha) Brechtel of Bremen, Indiana, and John (Cora) Hoover of Nappanee, Indiana; five step-children: Mrs. Vern Strickel, Elkhart, Indiana, Edward Wise, Nappanee, Indiana, Mrs. ALvin Bollinger, Wakarusa, Indiana, Mrs. Dwight Stickel of Osceola, Indian, and Irvin Wise at home; two sisters: Mrs. John Ebersole of Granger, Indiana, and Mrs. Edward Abbeihl of
Bremen, Indiana; fourteen grandcildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; twenty-eight step-grandchildren who were very close; other relaties, her church, and a host of friends.
