Mrs. Frankie Charlotte Fields, 78, wife of Lester Fields of Roseland, died Friday in Waynesboro Community Hospital following an extended illness.

She was born March 17, 1900, a daughter of the late Richard D. and Oline Davis Fields.

Surviving in addition to her husband are five daughters, Mrs. George (Marion) Brown; Mrs. Raymond (Gwen) Black, Mrs. Lloyd (La Verne) Napier and Mrs. John (Sylvia) Witt, all of Waynesboro, and Mrs. Carlton (Carolyn) Mattox of Piney River; one son, James M. Fields of Birmingham, N. Y.; four sisters, Mrs. Maury McClain of Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Fred Alban of Westminster, Md., Mrs. John Hughes of Nellysford and Mrs. Herman Fields of Roseland; two brothers, Cecil Davis of Wintergreen and John R. Davis of Roseland; 10 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Nelson German.

A funeral will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Beech Grove Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. J. D. Farries.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7 to 9 at Preston Parr Funeral Home, Roseland.
