She was a former school bus driver for the Burke County School System and former piano player at East Burke Church.
She was formerly known as Mama Jack as a Southern cook and manager of several restaurants.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Lee Lawton of Augusta and Carl Myers of Burke County.
She is survived by her husband, Phil Wingate; a sister, Rosalee Lawton (Ada) of Waynesboro; two sons, Billy Jack Myers (Lynn) of Alexander and Clay Myers of Waynesboro; step children, Amy Patterson of Augusta, April Griffin (Tommy) of Augusta, Nichelle Johnson (Jerry) of Waynesboro, Brian Wingate (Lisa) of Waynesboro; grandchildren; and great grandchildren.
Arrangements are not complete. The family requests donations be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
