Prominent Lawrence Countain Dies at Town Creek

Funeral rites for Henry G. Almon 76, widely known Lawrence countian, who died Wednesday afternoon at his home in Town Creek, were held this afternoon at Town Creek Methodist church the Rev. L.W. Young, pastor, and the Rev. Faye, of Florence officiating. Brown of Decatur, directed burial at Town Creek cemetery. Services at the grave were in charge of members of Town Creek lodge No. 361 A.F.& A.M. Grandsons of the deceased were pallbearers.

Surviving are the widow; four daughters, Mrs. William J. Lee, Mrs. Fred Davis, Mrs. Hearne Gibson, all of Town Creek; Mrs. Roy Stevens, of Atlanta; two sons, Fontaine Almon, of Town Creek and Dow Almon of Atlanta.

Members of a pioneer Alabama family, Mr. Almon was the brother of the late Congressman Edward B. Almon and was the last survivor of seven sons of the family of the late Mr. and Mrs. George C. Almon.
