Pauline Harrington

Pauline James Harrington, 87, of Taylorsville, died Monday, December 11, 2006, at Valley Nursing Center in Taylorsville following an extended illness.

She was born in Alexander County March 30, 1919, the daughter of the late Bynam James and Addie Mitchell James. She had been a textile worker and was retired as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Mrs. Harrington was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Mecimore; her second husband, James E. Looper, Sr.; a son, James Ray Mecimore; two brothers, Lee James and Fred James; and three sisters, Mozell Daniels, Ruby Adams, and Marie Scott.

Survivors include her husband, Roby Harrington of the home; two daughters, June Crouch and Judy Roberts, both of Taylorsville; a daughter-in-law, Dianne Mecimore of Taylorsville; one brother, Ned James of Florida; three sisters, Nell Davis and Ethel Williams, both of Asheboro, and Shirley Yow of Seagrove; four grandchildren, Danny Mecimore and wife Merriam of Taylorsville, Jill Sumpter and husband Steven of Hildebran, Jeff Parsons and wife Kim of Taylorsville, and Johnathan Roberts and wife Maranda of Longview; three great-grandchildren, Jennifer Barnett of Hildebran, Josh Mecimore and wife Kelley of Chapel Hill, and Wesley Mecimore and wife Heather of Huntersville; and a number of nieces, nephews, step-children, and step-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, December 13, 2006, 7:00-8:30 p.m., at Chapman Funeral Home in Stony Point. At other times, the family will be at their respective homes.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 14, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Buster Treadway officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery in Taylorsville.
