Agnes Oakland Hedstrom was born March 14, 1907 to Peter and Marie (Teigland) Oakland in Odin, Minnesota. She was baptized in her home and confirmed at Liberty Lutheran Church in Rake, Iowa. She graduated in 1924 from Rake, Iowa then moved to Albert Lea and worked at the American Gas Co. She was married to Elmer Hedstrom in Sioux Falls, So. Dakota on September 9, 1933. Agnes was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and a member of Sew and Tell, and Lydia Circle. She also volunteered at St. John's Nursing Home with the Therapy Group for 13 years. She worked 20 years at the Albert Lea Bakery.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Marie Oakland and husband Elmer; also two brothers, three sisters-in-law, and two brothers-in-law. Agnes is survived by two sons Paul (Rebecca) Hedstrom of Tucson, Arizona., Gary (Suzanne) Hedstrom of Minneapolis, Minnesota; grandchildren: Michael Hedstrom of Tucson, Arizona, Nadine (Robert)Constantino of Tucson, Arizona, Eric Hedstrom of Tempe, Arizona, Julie (Matt) Tschmper of Braham, Minnesota and Joni (Brett) Plueger of Minneapolis, Minnesota; great grandchildren: Jamie Monk, Melissa Tschumper, Madison Tschumper, Brenna Knutson, Carter Plueger and Bryson Plueger; sister: Marjorie (Ernest) Jenson of Bode, Iowa, three nephews and one niece. Agnes had many caring and loving friends.
