William Schroll died at St. Mary's hospital last night as a result of a fall at Green and water streets in the afternoon. Death was due to a contusion of the brain. He was 76 years old and had resided in Macon county for about 58 years.
He was born near Harrisburg, Pa. and with his father came to Decatur in 1850. They engaged in farming near Warrensburg. Many years ago he retired from active life and moved to Decatur. He was elected alderman and served in that capacity for many years.
Besides his wife Mrs. Nellie Schroll he is survived by four children, John, Charles and Fred Schroll of Decatur, Mrs. A. L. Clark of Des Moines, Ia. He also leaves one brother, Jacob Schroll of Fitzgerald, Ga. and one sister, Mrs. Peter Wiser of Nebraska.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
