Mr. Embree Franklin Blackwell Sr., 87, of the Allisona community in Williamson County, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, at his residence following an extended illness. A native of Marshall Co., Mr. Blackwell was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Class of 1938 of Forrest High School. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Andrew and Ruby Harris Blackwell; son, Johnny Blackwell; and sister, Lillian Stammer. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jean Barnes Blackwell of the Allisona community; four sons, Embree Blackwell, Jr. of the Allisona community; Charles (Debbie) Blackwell of Chapel Hill; Jeff (Deb) Blackwell of the Holts Corner community of Marshall County; and Thomas Blackwell of Eagleville; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with the Revs. Peter Ferguson and Tom Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at the Joyce-Blackwell-Cromer Cemetery in Marshall County.
