Mrs. Jean Barnes Blackwell, age 90, of the Allisona community of Williamson Co., died Sunday, January 31, 2016. Born in Marshall Co., Mrs. Blackwell was a daughter of the late John E. Barnes and Ruby Riggs Barnes. She was a homemaker and member of the former Promise United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Embree Blackwell, Sr. who died in 2007, a son, Johnny Blackwell and 2 brothers, Lynn and Riggs Barnes.

Survived by her 4 sons, Embree Blackwell, Jr. of the Allisona community, Charles (Debbie) Blackwell of Chapel Hill, Jeff (Lisa) Blackwell of the Allisona community and Thomas Blackwell of Eagleville; a sister, Laura Barnes Cathey of Columbia; 6 grandchildren, Emily Ferguson, Jennifer Daughrity, Andy Blackwell, Rebecca Blackwell, James Blackwell and Caleb Blackwell; 4 great grandchildren, Drew Daughrity, Lance Daughrity, Lilli Ferguson and Charleigh Blackwell.

Graveside services for all family and friends will be conducted at 2pm, Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the Joyce-Blackwell-Cromer Cemetery. There is no visitation scheduled.

For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Monroe Carell, Jr. Childrens Hospital.
