Rites Are Held For Former Memphian
Mrs. Bessie Wroten Passes Away Here Yesterday

Mrs. Bessie Wroten of Lawton, Okla., died at a local hospital Wednesday, June 26, at 10 o'clock a.m. after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held from the First Methodist Church of Memphis at 1:30 o'clock this afternoon, conducted by Rev. T.J. Rea, pastor, followed by interment in Fairview Cemetery, King's Mortuary in charge.

Mrs. Wroten was born in Memphis Feb. 1, 1901; was married to J.W. Wroten October 30, 1917, and lived at Lawton until her death.

Survivors are her husband and one son, Eugene, 12; parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Powell of this city, two sisters, Mrs. J.J. McMickin, Memphis, and Mrs. Lena Martin, Long Beach, Calif.; five brothers, Clarence and Herbert Powell, Memphis; W.H. Powell, Vernon; Byron and Henry Powell, California.
