HENRY T JARNAGIN DIES AT AGE OF 80

He had been a resident of this county since childhood

Henry T. Jarnagin who had been in slowly declining health for several years, though never hospitalized until shortly before his death, passed away in the Comanche County Hospital last Friday, December 19.

Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian Church in this city at 2 o'clock Monday this week and were in the charge of Rev. Earnest Lawrence, pastor of the Wilmore Baptist Church.

Mrs. Frank Webber sang "Abide with Me" and "Near to the Heart of God" accompanied at the organ by Rev. Carl Grondorf. Pallbearers were Sam Lawrence, Eddie Baker, Lloyd Herd, I. Atteberry, DeWayne Herd, and Tom Jellison. Interment was in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Henry T. Jarnagin, son of Mr. & Mrs. J. A. Jarnagin, was born near Cromwell, KY, January 13, 1878, and passed away Dec. 19, 1958 in the Comanche County, Hospital at the age of 80.

He was married to Rena Monticue in 1901 in Coldwater, KS. To this union two children were born. His wife preceded him in death in 1941. He leaves to mourn his death one daughter, Mrs. Gladys Blake of Coldwater, KS and one son, Ray Jarnagin of Pratt, KS, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, two brothers, William G. Jarnagin of Coldwater, and Jim Jarnagin of Jetmore; three sisters, Mrs. Orelia Springs, Clayton, NM; Mrs. Hester Hopkins of Protection, KS; and Mrs. Bertha Bolen of Fair Oaks, CA.; also a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Jarnagin accepted Christ as his Saviour and united with the First Baptist church while living on the farm south of Protection. He was a faithful, kind and loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by all.
