JOHN ST. PETERS OF ALTON DIED - John St. Peters of Alton, former Jersey County resident, died Monday, Janaruy 23 at 5:30 p.m. at the Memorial Hospital in Alton where had had been a patient for 16 days. Mr. St. Peters had been in ill health since December. He was born in Jersey County on February 9, 1882, and had spent all of his life in Jersey County and the Alton area. He was a carpenter by trade and prior to his illness had been employed by Barry-Wehmiller Machine Company in St. Louis. Mr. St. Peters was a member of Full Moon Lodge, AF&AM of Grafton, and Masonic rites were conducted Wednesday evening at the Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Mr. St. Peters is survived by his wife Mrs. Emma True St. Peters; one son Herbert, and two daughters Mrs. Elmer Weigand of Edwardsville and Mrs. Kenneth Duncan of Alton; three brothers, Edward and Oliver St. Peters of the Alton-Jerseyville Road, and Jake St. Peters of Kane. He also leaves three grandchildren. Funeral rites will be held this afternoon, Thursday, January 31, at two o'clock at the Gent Funeral Home. Burial will be in Valhalla Memorial Park.
