Married 8 July 1860 in Princeton, Illinois. Was the mother of 12 children; Harry Leomidas Larkins, Sariah Violet Larkins, Herbert (Herb) Clarence Larkins, Eavy Gertrude Larkins, Ceon Emery Larkins, Winnie (Ett) Etta Larkins, Marian Grace Larkins, Ethel Ann Larkins, Ernest L Larkins, Ralph Larkins, Lilly May Larkins & Minnie Edith Larkins.

Margaret drove a team of horses hitched to a light wagon, which carried their small children, while her husband William drove an oxen team from Illinois to Kansas to homestead. The family ran a one-horse tread cane-mill, where neighbors came to process their cane into molasses. Once in a while the Larkins would put on a taffy-pull, inviting the young people of the area to their place for a social.
