Obituary: The Times-Picayune, (New Orleans, LA) - January 11, 2009
Doris "Dotsy" Nethery, a resident of Diamondhead, MS. since the 1970's, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2009 at the age of 83. Dotsy was the daughter of the late Paul and Alma (Jacomina) Galmich and sister of the late James "Jackie" Galmich. She lost her dear husband Wilbur "Glen" Nethery in August 2008. Dotsy had previously been married to the late Kenneth Kincaide, father of two sons Norman, (his wife Rosie) and Ken (his wife Alyce) all of Oklahoma, and a daughter Darlene Kincaide of Texas. Dotsy is survived by a cousin, Nelvia "Peggy" Goodspeed and her daughter Nelvia Ricca both of New Orleans, LA and a cousin Betty and her husband James Sutton of Long Beach, MS. Dotsy was born in New Orleans and resided many years in Empire and Buras, LA where she was in partnership with her father in the shrimp and oyster business. She also owned Chateau Royale I and Chateau Royale II Motels and kept up with various business ventures until her death.
Dotsy enjoyed the company of and was active with several bridge groups. After Katrina she welcomed her bridge partner Renee Kirkpatrick into her home which led to a special friendship with the two families celebrating the holidays and special occasions with Renee's children in New Orleans. Dotsy's caring, generous and lively personality will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, La. 70124. Visitation will begin on Monday, January 12, 2009 at 12:00 noon followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park.
