Betty Maury Cobb- a life long resident of Mobile passed away on January 4th, 2010 at the age of 97. Mrs. Cobb graduated from Wright Girl's School in Mobile and Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Springhill. Her great grand father, Bishop Richard Hooker Wilmer was consecrated the Episcopal Bishop of Alabama in 1862 and founded Wilmer Hall in Springhill in 1864. She was an accomplished gardener having created numerous award winning features in the Mobile area.

Mrs. Cobb was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Isaac Basil Cobb; brothers, Jim, Lewis, Frank, Harvey and Richard Maury, sisters Marion Waters and Madeleine Hayes and grandson Leslie Maury Radcliff. She is survived by her daughter Marion Cobb Stimpson and son, Richard Wilmer Cobb; four grandchildren, George Willis Radcliff, Fontaine Radcliff Howard, Jaan Alexander Childs and Richard Maury Cobb; six great grandchildren, Sandy Howard, Radcliff Howard, Amber Jefferies, Maury Radcliff, Will Radcliff and Charlie Radcliff. Mrs. Cobb is also survived by her nieces; Madeleine Maury McPhillips, Betty Gray Hayes Lyon and Annette Maury Shuler. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
