McCARTY, LILLIAN (GRANNY) - age 84 of Sharps Chapel, passed away Monday, February 28, 2005 at home. She was a member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Sharps Chapel. She was preceded in death by: parents, B.U. and Sally Cox husband, Ivan McCarty two sons, Hurchel and Carroll McCarty two grandchildren, J.D. and Daniel one great grandchild, Steven Blankenship. Survivors: grandchildren, Marvin McCarty, Ronald McCarty, Angie Blankenship, all of Sharps Chapel and Teresa Brooks of New Tazewell brothers, Jack and sister in law Mattie Cox, of Knoxville, Jess and sister in law, Mary Ruth Cox of New Tazewell sisters, Laura Giles of Fountain City, and Maggie Dyke of Sharps Chapel 13 great grandchildren 2 great great grandchildren a host of nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2005, prior to funeral service at 8 p.m., at Cooke Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Greg Sharp officiating. Music by Fultz Family. Interment 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Abraham Cox Cemetery. Cooke Mortuary, Maynardville, TN.
