Joe died in Elwood, Madison County, IN from a Cerebral abscess after a 5 week illness as noted in his obits & death certificate. Joe was the operator of the Zimmerman Farm. He and Bertha had been living in Madison County, Indiana for five years. In the 1940 census they were found in Perkinsville, south of Elwood. They had three daughters, Coba Faye, Hilda Wade & Marlyin Jeanne Cox.
