A rosary by the Catholic Daughters will be recited 9 p.m., tonight (Friday) at our chapel. Mrs. Truitt died early Thursday morning in a Sterling hospital of injuries she received in a two-car accident west of Sterling Wednesday evening. Mrs. Truitt was born March 5, 1927 in Fort Morgan, the daughter of Maurice and Marie L. Rogers Van De Weghe. She moved to Sterling with her family in 1935, attended St. Anthony's Catholic school, graduating from St. Anthony's High School in 1945. For many years she was employed at the Commercial Bank and was active in Red Cross volunteer work at Logan County Hospital. She married William E. Truitt Feb. 10, 1948, in Sterling. He operates Truitt Decorating Co., in Sterling. Mrs. Truitt was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Sterling Drove 213 Patriotic Order of Does, American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 20., Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary No. 3541 and Catholic Daughters. She is survived by her husband, William E. Truitt of 420 Fairhurst; a son, James Truitt of Houston, Tex.; a daughter, Miss Janelle Truitt of Sterling; her mother,. Mrs. Maire Van De Weghé of Ft. Collins and two brothers, Maurice Van De Weghe of Denver and Raymond Van De Weghe of Raleigh, N. C. Walters-Chaney Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
