We are very sorry to report the death of Mrs. Edith Holt, who died on the 3rd inst. She leaves a husband and three children and other relatives to mourn her departure.
Those 3 children would be
Bessie Lee
Emmett
and Eda/Edah
Bessie Lee also had a younger brother, Emmett, who died in 1901, as a 4 year old. He is buried beside their father, J. S. Holt, in the Davidson Cemetery, at Mingus, Palo Pinto, TX.
Her father was killed in a coal mining accident in 1904.
She was passed around between aunts and uncles, but "people kept on dying" and she didn't want to talk about it.
She married Thomas Calloway "Callie" Barefoot when she was 18 at Nocona, Montague, TX. Her life settled down and she raised three sons: Chester Lee; Guy O., and Armond Dudley.
