Funeral services for Zora Morrey, 91, of Fort Madison, Ia., formerly south of Hurdland will be held Thursday afternoon at one o'clock in the United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the IOOF cemetery at Hurdland.
Mrs. Morrey died Tuesday morning Feb 15, 1972 at 3:30 in the Sacred Heart Hospital in Fort Madison, Ia. where she had been a patient a few days.
The daughter of Thomas J and Priscilla "Jane" Ross Black, she was born Mar. 03, 1880 in Knox County. On Feb 06, 1898 in Knox County she was married to John Dow Morrey who preceded her in death on Jan 28, 1958. Also preceding her in death were two half-sisters and three half-brothers.
Surviving are one son, Archie D. Morrey of Fort Madison, Ia., three daughters, Mrs. Leslie (Priscilla) Golden of Fort Madison, Ia., Miss Effie Morrey of Moberly and Mrs. Charles (Claudine) Naylor of Holts Summit; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and two half sisters, Galen E Chadwick and Ada Black both of Birmingham, Alabama.
Mr. and Mrs. Morrey spent their married life on a farm south of Hurdland until 1958 when they moved to Fort Madison to make their home near their children.
Mrs. Morrey was a member of the Old Mt. Tabor church south of Hurdland. She was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge 119, Hurdland.
