THROOP Samuel, (Taunton), April 25, 1700.
Knowing that Deborah Macey was his mother, and that she was from Taunton (George Macey was one of the original proprietors there), I believe this note is telling us that he was actually born in Taunton. Possibly, Deborah had gone to Taunton to visit her mother and solicit advice about childbirth (it was her first baby), when she went into labor.
Son of Daniel Throope and Deborah Macey. He married Dorothy Gray (1704 - 1743) on 23 May 1722. They had three children: Samuel (b. 1723); Mary (b. 1726) and Macey (b. 1727).
Samuel Throope married Dorothy Gray, who happened to be his step-sister, daughter of Samuel Gray and Deborah Tucker Church. (It was a small world, and not a big selection.)
He died very young, and she remarried to Ebenezer Hyde, who died in 1742 in Lebanon. She died there in 1743, supposedly.
