George Edward Warren, 63, of Asheville, died Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, at Canton Christian Convalescent Center.

Mr. Warren was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Buck and Lois Brookshire Warren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Jones Warren, stepson, James Eberhart, and sister and brother-in-law, Georgia and Carroll Christopher.

Mr. Warren was a former ferry operator for Biltmore Dairy Farms.

He is survived by his stepdaughter, Renae Warren of Asheville; two stepsons, Jay Raby and his wife, Harriett, of Etowah and Cam Raby and his wife, Terry, of Florida; three stepgrandchildren, Camie, Tyra and Swan; four sisters, Gladys Austin and her husband, Floyd, of Candler, Clara Sue Warren and her husband, Benny, of South Carolina, Patricia Brockmeyer of Swannanoa and Diana Johnson and her husband, Harvey, of Candler; and brother, Weldon Warren and his wife, Renae, of Asheville.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting with the arrangements.

George Edward Warren, 63, of Asheville, died Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, at Canton Christian Convalescent Center.
