An Obituary from "Gatesville Messenger & Star Forum," Thursday, 11-15-1979:

Mrs. Walker (Alma) Summers, 85, of Gatesville died Thursday in the local hospital. She had lived in Coryell County all her life, the last 60 years in Gatesville.
Funeral services, conducted by Ministers Holland McLean and Delbert Smith, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Scott's Funeral Home chapel. Burial was in Restland Cemetery.
Born Dec. 4, 1893, in the Turnover community, Mrs. Summers was the daughter of John and Minnie Berry. She was married to Mr. Summers on May 25, 1913, and they moved to Gatesville from the Ewing community about six years later. Mr. Summers, a barber, died in 1964.
Mrs. Summers was a member of the West Main Church of Christ.
She is survived by one son, J. W. Summers of Coleman; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Tomlinson of Gatesville and Mrs. Johnnie Margaret Woodson of Houston; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Summers' funeral were Jim Miller, Francis Miller, J. M. Starkey, James Starkey, Billy Timmons, and Carroll Starkey.
