Mrs. J. D. (Mable) Rose, 74, of Gatesville died April 14 in a Waco hospital.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday in Scott's Funeral Home chapel and were conducted by Ministers Holland McLean and Barry Curtis. Burial was in Restland Cemetery.
Mrs. Rose, the former Miss Mable Minnie Berry, was born June 24, 1901, in Gatesville.
She was married to J. D. Rose on Dec. 17, 1916, and, except for a short time spent in Oklahoma, they lived in the Gatesville area all their married life.
Mrs. Rose was a member of the West Main Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband; one son, James D. Rose Jr. of Odessa; three daughters, Mrs. John (Dolores) McCall of Odessa, Mrs. Roy (Dorothy Fay) Wittie of Gatesville and Mrs. K. E. (Lucille) Wood Sr. of Odessa; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Tomlinson and Mrs. Alma Summers, both of Gatesville; 14 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren.
Mrs. Rose's grandsons were pallbearers for the Friday funeral.
