Edmund Yoble was born near Barnston, but moved to a farm east of DuBois, Nebraska with his family at an early age. They grew up here and received their schooling in DuBois. After his marriage to Hettie Westerman they continued to live there and farmed. His farm was a showcase of how farming should be done, his animals were treated with kindness and home and building kept in good repair. Their children also grew to adulthood here and their son continued the family tradition. After his retirement they bought a home in DuBois and he remodeled it into an beautiful modern home.

"Uncle Edmund" loved to work with wood and was a master carpenter. He made beautiful furniture, a walnut desk and clock among the many things he crafted. He made miniature wagons and buggies to scale, with all working parts, harnesses and all hitched to matching horses. He had a large collection of antiques that were displayed in his garage like a showroom.

He was a kind and gentle man, loving husband and father, and the best neighbor and friend anyone could have. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
