Services for Joseph Vencil Yuska, 96, formerly of Buckingham, who died Friday, September 12, 1975, at the Sunnycrest Nursing Home in Dysart, were held Tuesday, Sept. 16, in St. Paul Catholic Church in Traer, with a rosary recited on Monday and a wake service Monday evening at Overton Funeral Home.
Mr. Yuska was born in Dysart vicinity and attended country school there. He was married to Anna Kadrmas Feb. 21, 1905 at St. Vaclav Church west of Clutier. They farmed in the Buckingham area until their retirement and later entered Sunnycrest Nursing Home.
In February the couple celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
He is survived by his wife at Sunnycrest and one daughter, Mrs. Ernest Mannel of Buckingham; two brothers, Frank of Waterloo and Edward of Traer; and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Ludvicek and Mrs. Emma Ludvicek, both of Traer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters and a daughter, Mrs. Joe (Agnes) Ruzicka.
Pallbearers were Frank Yuska Jr., Glenn Yuska, Wesley Yuska, Donald Yuska, Milo Kubik and Marcel Nechanicky. Mass cards were in charge of Mrs. Elmer Axler and Mrs. Robert Rudebeck. Flowers were in charge of Mr. and Mrs. James Maar, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Messerly and Mrs. Edith Lambert.
Burial was in St. Vaclav Cemetery.
