"Alice Rose Ames Black 1921 ~ 2009 Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother passed away peacefully December 23, 2009. She was born January 7, 1921 in Salt Lake City to Henry and Sylva Ames. She married Edward Ferris Black Jan. 7, 1939 and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. She is survived by her children, Rollo (Ann) Black, Janice (Mayo) DeMille, Carol (John) Buckmiller, Ileen (Alan) Black, Edeen (Richard) Peacock, Rafe (Rinda) Black, Kenneth (Teri) Black and Richard Black. She is also survived by 45 grandchildren, 139 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. She was happy to add Deanna Aldrich (Kenneth) Brown into her family for about six years, and loved her as a daughter and added to her posterity. Her greatest joys were her family and service to the LDS church. She served as Relief Society President three times and was a teacher in both Primary and Sunday school. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday December 28, 2009 at the Holladay 14th Ward Chapel, 4917 Viewmont Street, Holladay. A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday December 27, 2009 at Cottonwood Memorial Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Dr., and one hour prior to services at the Church on Monday."
