Officer of Golden Cross Order and Fraternal Insurance Man.
"Michael E. Shiel, 2435 North New Jersey street, one of the best-known fraternal insurance men in the state, died this morning of chronic nephritis. He had been grand commander of the United Order of the Golden Cross for the last six years, and on April 15 was elected for his fourth term. October 3, 1910, he was married to Mrs. Mary E. Watts, who survives him. One son J. A. Shiel, and one daughter, Mrs. Nettie Jordan, by a former marriage, also survive."
