An Indianapolis truck driver was burned to death yesterday when his truck and another truck collided on Ohio 14, one mile north of East Palestine (O.).
He was Ralph Mitchell, 55 years old 611 Tecumseh Street, driver for Chicago Express Inc. A company spokesman, who described Mitchell as an excellent driver, said he was en route to Pennsylvania with a 10-ton cargo of oleo-margarine.
Intense heat from the burning oleo and lack of water at the scene kept firemen from fighting the flames effectively.
Driver of the other truck, A. B. Greiner, 40, Evans Cit5y, Pa., who was hauling a 15-ton cargo of steel, received minor injuries.
Mitchell is survived by hi wife, Anna; two sons, Burley and Doyle Mitchell, and two daughters, Mrs. Jean Wilkerson and Mrs. Lamern Coyle, all of Indianapolis.
His body will be taken to the Harry W. Moore Peace Chapel. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
