Jack Irving Glanzman was born in Yasi, Romania December 10, 1904. His parents were Julius and Gertrude Glanzman. He was the next to youngest of 7 children. His father died when he was very young and his mother struggled to support her children as a seamstress. His oldest brother came to the US in about 1918 and worked to save sufficient funds to bring the rest of the family to Indianapolis. Jack came to Indianapolis along with his mother and siblings in 1922. He worked as a tailor for various clothing stores and eventually retired as manager of the alteration department of L. Strauss and Company after almost 50 years of service. He married Eileen Patch in 1933 and they had two sons, Jack Earl and Richard A. Glanzman. He passed away just weeks after a family gathering to celebrate his 90th birthday. Surviving were his widow, Eileen and sons, Jack and Richard Glanzman
