Bonnie Chappell of Gatesville died Jan. 7 at her residence. She was 75.
Funeral services were held Monday at Scott's Funeral Home with Minister Loyd Hall officiating. Interment was in Restland Cemetery.
Mrs. Chappell was born Feb. 3, 1924, in Fort Worth, the daughter of the late Lonnie and Neomia Hamilton Reynolds. She was reared and attended school in Fort Worth and McGregor. She also attended Central Texas College.
On Nov. 27, 1942, she married Jack Chappell, and they made their home in Washington before moving to Gatesville in 1950. He preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 1978.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Doloma Bloodworth on March 5, 1999.
She was a former employee of the City of Gatesville, and also worked as a telephone operator for many years with Gulf States Telephone Company in Gatesville. She then went to work for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, retiring in 1985 from the Mountain View Unit. She was a member of the Gatesville Church of Christ.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Necessary of Gatesville; a son, Ricky Chappell of Shreveport, LA; two sisters, Dorothy Barker of Gatesville and Jo Reynolds of Kaufman; one brother, Jack Reynolds of Arlington; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Grandchildren served as the pallbearers.
The family requests memorials be made to the Gatesville Church of Christ.
