Mrs. Doris C. Martin, 77, died Wednesday afternoon (July 16, 2003) at Satilla Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Ware County and resided most of her life in Ware County. She was married to the late Charles E. Martin, Sr. and was the daughter of the late Thomas Elam Cowart and Emmie Jane Wall Cowart.
She was retired co-owner of A and D Clothing Manufacturer and was a member of Deenwood Baptist Church.
The survivors include a son, Eddy Martin of Waycross; three
grandchildren, Chris Martin and Jan Martin both of Waycross, Brad Martin of Tallahassee, FL; a great grandson, Charlie Martin of Tallahassee, FL; two sisters, Mary Jane Blount and Ann Hall both of Waycross; a brother, Jim Cowart of Kennesaw; and
several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Deenwood Baptist Church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Music Funeral Home Thursday night from 7 until 9 o'clock.
