Myrtle G. (Bloom) Morganthall, 79, of 13733 Lower Edgemont Road, Waynesboro, Pa., entered into eternal rest at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, in the York Hospital Trauma Unit. Death was attributed to a fall suffered in her home.

She was born on May 29, 1930, in Waynesboro; she was the daughter of the late John Franklin and Margaret Grace (Woodring) Bloom.

Mrs. Morganthall graduated from Washington Township High School with the Class of 1948.

She and her late husband, Walter F. Morganthall, were married on May 29, 1948, in Smithsburg, Md. They moved to the present residence in the early 1960s. Mr.
Morganthall died on Feb. 14, 2008.

Mrs. Morganthall was a homemaker all her life.

In her early life, she was a member of Blue Mountain Church of God, where she taught Sunday School for a number of years and served as treasurer of the church.
She later joined Germantown Bethel Church of God where she was involved in women's ministries and helped in the kitchen and anywhere else within the church.

She enjoyed reading the Bible and talking to friends on the phone.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ethel Alexander, Gladys Galloway and Alma Muth, and three brothers, John Bloom, Clifton Bloom and George Bloom.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, in Germantown Bethel Church of God, 16924 Raven Rock Road, Cascade, Md., with Pastor Mark A. Hosler officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

It was her family's request to have no public viewing, but the family will receive friends one hour prior to services in the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Germantown Bethel Church of God Mission Fund, 16924 Raven Rock Road, Cascade, Md. 21719.
