Jesse "Jake" Townlian, 84, of Rogersville passed away Friday December 18, 2009 at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, ARK. Jake was born on June 3, 1925 in Seymour, MO. to William and Ella "Burks" Townlian.
He was a graduate of Seymour High School and was of the Baptist Faith. Jake served in the U.S. ARMY in Germany during WWII for 2 tours. Jake was a retired Mason and Electrician.
He was married to Mary Loretta "Layne" on August 4, 1946 and she preceded him in death on February 13, 2003 also preceding him was a son Terry Townlian in 1990.
Surviving is his two sons, Freddy Townlian and wife Maxine of Rogersville, Mark Townlian and wife Shelly of Crane, MO., two daughters, Linda Smith and husband Kenneth of Beach Grove, ARK. and Debbie Chaffin of Springfield. One sister Josephine Frost and husband Rudolph of St. Louis, MO. 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday December 23, 2009 at the Preston-Marsh Funeral Home, Rogerville. Burial with full military honors will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Funeral Home.
