The funeral services for Charles "Marvin" May, 87, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, in the Central Christian Church chapel. Revs. John McLemore and Don Johnson and Chaplain Donald W. Ailsworth will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrange-ments are by Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. He was born Jan. 20, 1922, in Hitchcock to Jesse L. and Emma (Voth) May and died December 17, 2009, in Golden Oaks Nursing Home. He attended local schools in Hitchcock and graduated with the class of 1940. He enlisted in the U.S. Naval reserve in 1942, serving as an aviation machinist. He was stationed in Norman, Norfolk, Va., and Barbers Point, Territory of Hawaii. He was honorably discharged in November 1945. He married Betty Lou Miller July 19, 1947, in Ardmore. The couple made their home in Enid, where he worked as a salesman for Sears, Thomas Furniture Store and Loomis Furniture. He was a member of Central Christian Church and AMBUCS, where he was heavily involved in Trykes for Tots. He was a volunteer for Integris Bass home health program. He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers and one sister. Survivors include one daughter, Micki Lynn Michael of Lebanon, Ill,; one son Charles "Doug" May of Enid; and five grandchildren.
