Dies Suddenly
HAMMONDSPORT — Ernest
L. Beam, 61, of 61 Lake St., died
unexpectedly this morning, and
was dead on arrival in Ira
Davenport Hospital of natural
causes. 10-31-197O
He was born here April 20,
1909, the son of Charles and
Clara Brooks Beam. |_
A self-employed carpenter, he
was a member of the local
Methodist Church, the local
Moose Club and volunteer fire
department, and the Bath Elks
and Bath Country Club, as well;
as an active bowler.
Surviving are his wife, Alberta
Polmateer Beam;
a daughter, Mrs. Phillip (Linda)
Kellogg of Corning; a brother,
LeRoy Beam of Rochester; a
sister, Mrs. Kenneth Oakley of
Dundee; two stepsons, Duane
Randall of Hammondsport and
Gary Smalt of Detroit, Mich.;
two step-daughters, Mrs. John
McKinnon of Detroit, Mich., and
(Mrs. Douglas Shebby of Meliford,
Mich.; three grandchildren
and several cousins.
Friends may call at the Bond
Funeral Home here on Saturday
and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9
p.m. Funeral services will be
from the funeral home on Monday
at 2 p.m., with the Rev.
Clair Statham, pastor of the
local Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant
Valley Cemetery here.
Moose memorial services will
be 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral
home, with Elks memorial service
to follow at 8 p.m.
