Katie Jane Shaffer
Mrs. Katie Jane Shaffer, 84, wife of William H. Shaffer, Tunkhannock RD 5, died Monday at the Tyler Memorial Hospital after a short hospital. Born in Pittston, a daughter of Parley and Margaret Jones Cleveland, she was a member of Eaton Baptist Church.
Also surviving are two sons, Homer and Frank, at home; four daughters, Mrs. Edith Kester, at home; Mrs. Elizabeth Strickland, Nicholson; Mrs, Eleanor Dunlap, Mehoopany; Mrs. Audrey Gillen, Tunkhannock, a sister, Mrs. Charlotte Ayres, Tunkhannock.
Private funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. from the Harding Funeral Home, 64 Bridge St., Tunkhannock, with Rev. R. Sterling Smith officiating. Interment, Eatonville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home, Thursday, 7 to 9 p.m.
