Funeral services for Mrs. Lula Gardner MAYO, who died at Tayloe hospital this morning, will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the graveside at Dennis SMITH cemetery near Chicod High School by Rev. W A DATL.
Mrs. MAYO was born in Pitt county, November 1 1, 1883, daughter of the late John and Julianna SMITH GARDNER. Mrs. MAYO was a life long resident of the Chicod community. Surviving are her husband, William B. MAYO of Route Three Washington; two sons, B. A. and Dan MAYO of near Washington; six daughters, Mrs. Zeno MILLS of Greenville, Mrs. Nick ROGERS and Mrs. H. H. STOCKS of Washington, Misses Maybelle, Henrietta and Annabelle MAYO of near Washington; two sisters, Mrs. Reba JONES of New Bern and
Mrs. J. W. SHACKLEFORD of PollocksviUe; two half brothers, Richard HARDEE of Ayden, and Joe STOKES of Raleigh, one brother, Zack GARDNER of Vanceboro.
