WASHINGTON NC - Funeral services for Ben A. Mayo, 57, resident and farmer of Route 3, Washington, will be held at the chapel of the Paul Funeral Home Sunday at 2 pm conducted by the Rev. N. D. Beamon assisted by the Rev. Sam Kennedy end the Rev. David Davis. Burial will follow in Haddock Cemetery, Pitt County.
Mayo died Tuesday. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church, Shelmerdine WOW Camp and Tau Tribe No. 18, Red Men.
Surviving are his wife Susie Bell Haddock; two sons, Gene Mayo, A1c of USAF, Africa, and Wesley Mayo of New Bern; one brother, Dan Mayo of Route 3, Washington; five sisters, Mrs. Zeno Mills of Route 2, Greenville, Mrs. Herman Stocks of Route 2, Robersonville, Mrs. Marion Hall of Greenville, Mrs. Shirley Mill of Chocowinity and Mrs. Elmo Heath of Grimesland.
