Stewart McNutt Sr., 89, of Tampa, Fla., formerly of Adrian, died Saturday, May 28, 2005. He was born Nov. 24, 1915 in Adrian to Mr. and Mrs. George McNutt. Mr. McNutt was retired from the Dravo Corp. after 53 years of service. A Merchant Marine veteran, he served during World War II. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior. He was an avid blood donor to Florida Blood Services. Survivors include one son, Stewart McNutt Jr. and wife Carol of Newark, Del.; two grandchildren, Stewart McNutt III and Kimberly Figgs, both of Newark, Del.; one great-grandson, Jacob Figgs of Newark; and one sister, Betty Lightbody of Kittanning. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen; and three sisters, Mary Louise Summers, Lenora McCoy and Joanne Mine. Funeral services were held June 4 in Brandon, Fla.

He was retired from the Dravo Corp. after 53 years, a member of the Lutheran Church of our Savior, veteran of the Merchant Marines during World War II, and an avid blood donor to Florida Blood Services. Mr. McNutt was predeceased by his wife, Helen; and is survived by Stewart McNutt Jr. and wife Carol of Newark, Del.; a sister, Betty Lightbody of Kittanning, Pa.; two grandchildren, Stewart McNutt III and Kimberly Figgs; and a great-grandchild, Jacob Figgs, all three of Newark, Del. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2005, followed by a funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2005, at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home in Brandon, (813) 689-8121. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Florida Blood Services.
