Thomas [Nelson] Studebaker, a special science student at Purdue university last year, was drowned last Sunday while swimming in a river at Youngstown, O. according to word received in Lafayette Thursday. Young Studebaker was 21 years old and was spending the summer in Youngstown. While at Purdue last year he roomed at 27 University street, The body was shipped to the home of the youth's parents in Kokomo, Ind., and the funeral service was held Thursday afternoon at the family home, 524 East Walnut street, Kokomo. Burial will take place at Indianapolis." [sic]

KOKOMO, Ind., September 3. --- The body of Thomas [Nelson] Studebaker , age twenty-one, who was drowned Sunday in a pool at Youngstown, O., arrived here Tuesday for burial. It was accompanied by the father, Frank L. Studebaker. Thomas Studebaker was a graduate of the Kokomo High School and was a junior in Purdue University last year. He had been employed in a factory at Youngstown."
