The Kokomo Tribune from Kokomo, Indiana, January 28, 1971, page 6 Ray F. McVety, 84, 1715 N. Main St., died in the St. Joseph Memorial Hospital at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday following a one-day illness. Born in Kokomo, Oct. 28, 1887, he was the son of George and Ellen (Webb) McVety. He had lived in this vicinity all of his life. He had been an employee of the former Globe American Corp. here before retirement in 1951. He was a member of a local Stove Mounters' Union. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Gladys Smith and a half-brother, George McVety, both of Kokomo, and several nieces and nephews. A son, three brothers and two sisters are deceased. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Ellers Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Carl Guy officiating. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home between 4-9 p.m. Thursday and on Friday morning.
