Kokomo (IN) Tribune, Sept. 25, 1972, page 5 - George W. McVety Jr., 71, 1717 N. Main St., died in his home Saturday night following an extended illness. Born in Kokomo, June 28, 1901, he was the son of George and Harriet (Howard) McVety, Sr. In 1934 he was married to Gertrude Boyer, who survives. He was a 1957 retired employee of Hoosier Iron Works and had previously worked at the Globe American Corp. and the Midwest Plating Company. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose. Surviving in addition to the widow are two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Mary) Taskey, Rockford, III., and Mrs. Gerald (Janet) McMahon. Columbia. S. C.; and sons Robert McVety, Kokomo, and Jdlin (sp?) McVety, Bunker Hill; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and two half-sisters, Mrs. Gladys Smith, Kokomo. and Mrs. Myrtle Noble, __________. Four half-brothers and three half-sisters are deceased. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Ellers Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ronald ___uird offi- cialing. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home; 2-4 and __ - 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.
