Josephine Goin was born December 11, 1867 in Tazwell, Claiborne County Tennessee. She married Horace Greeley Saddler in Liberty, Nebraska on Jan 25, 1883. She is the daughter of James Knox Polk Goin born April 10, 1845 in Claiborne County Tennessee and Elizabeth McVey, born Aug 10, 1845 in Claiborne County Tennessee. Her grandparents were Sterling Goin, born Nov 4, 1818 in Claiborne County Tennessee and Mary Ann Keck born Oct 2, 1819 in Claiborne County Tennessee. Mary Ann Keck was the daughter of John D Keck born December 25, 1795 in Orange County North Carolina and Anna Owsley born December 28, 1792 in Fayetee, Virginia. John D Keck was the son of the Revolutionary War Soldier, Conrad Keck. Anna Owsley was the daughter of the Revolutionary War Soldier John Owsley.

Horace Saddler and Josephine (Goin) Saddler homesteaded in the Gem, Kansas area in 1885. By 1967 there were 41 direct decendants of Horace and Josephine living in the Gem and Colby areas of Thomas County Kansas which included two sons: Harold and Francis Saddler and three daughters Gail Goin, Honor Wallace, and Ada Ring.
