Harold Edward Droll, 96, Kokomo, passed away at 3:30 am Monday, April 23, 2012, at Northwoods Village. He had lived at Northwoods Commons for the past seven years. Harold was born June 2, 1915, in Bloomington, the son of the late Walter Andres Droll and Ada Bernice (Lawrence) Droll.

Harold spent his childhood on the Droll homestead near Unionville. A 1932 graduate of Unionville High School, Harold served in the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1934-1937.

Harold retired as a foreman at Chrysler, where he had worked from 1937-1960. In 1957, he started Droll's Upholstery Service with his wife, Marie. He retired in 1995, after 38 enjoyable years. Harold and Marie also managed and operated three apartment houses in Kokomo.

Harold was married to Rose Marie Brass Butler from 1940-1946. He later married Marie Cole Droll in 1950. She preceded him in death June 28, 1996.

He enjoyed reading and writing poetry, and bound a book of the poetry he had written.
